Here is my newest story, Age of Anthros. Has some connections to Outcast Bandicoot... though it is of a whole new cast, but some things in this are important to the events in OB4. So yeah, this is what I have done so far. Once the Age of Anthro's site is ready, I'll show. But for now, only the story is ready so here you all go...

Introduction.
It was the year 10,364AC.
The world was strange at this time. So much had happened in so little time, since the year 2000 at least. Sure 8364 years seemed long for many, but it was short for so much evolution to happen so fast.
Unfortunately some species did go extinct over time, thanks to the disturbance of man kind during the 10th to 20th century. But things rapidly changed during that time.... and for an unknown reason as of yet, many humans were wiped out along with some other species. Cities were deserted, since they seemed to be the centre of chaos at the time. Man living today called that time the 'Age of Death' and they're lucky to even still exist today, around less than 2 billion judging from what scientists have studied.
Humans were confused at how animals were changing over the generations as the Death Age started to fade off and allow man kind to slowly get back on to their feet. Technology wasn't able to go as far as before though, due to the lack of resources such as oil, metals and safe land about. But many studied the animals closely, and many became a lot more dependent on animals now more than ever, to help survive the new world which was more extreme than before.
Up to the 80th century, they noticed quite a few species such as the Primates, Rodents, Marsupials and Carnivora species (which contains the canines, felines, etc) were now becoming bipeds and were able to walk and run around on their hind legs and even have increased intelligence, the Primates were almost even at the same level as humans, just different in appearance. Tamed species also wore clothing.
Not all animals were evolving in the same way though, animals like the large hoofed beasts started to develop tougher skin, and stronger horns or antlers, making them much tougher to hunt down with conventional weapons. And some sea mammals took to the land, while others stayed in the sea but advanced over time to adapt to the new world. There were even rumors than some species could learn human speech, and as the years went by, it became a lot more common and much more real.
Man was still puzzled at all this though, how could this kind of evolution happen so fast? It should at least take millions of years, not thousands... though many didn't really care about how and why it happened. Many treasured it and lived among these evolved animals in peace and harmony. Some had alliances, some just lived on their own but there were also some humans that truly had strong distaste for these animals. They wanted them to be wiped out immediately, or be servants to man kind. They didn't believe these animals had the right to live like the humans once did, sometimes wars broke out between each side because of this...
The humans also decided to name the evolved animals that could live like them, talk like them, learn and walk like them, anthros. The word anthropomorphic means "object or creature with human like qualities" which is why they chose it. There were some strange possibilities with these anthro animals also, some were able to interbreed with closely related species, to create a new species (such as the infamous Karline… which was from a cat and dog anthro. And the Tasmanian Lion, which is from a Thylacine and Tasmanian Devil) such hybrids were impossible while they were non-anthro. But not any anthro could breed with any anthro, it had to at least be closely related enough to make it possible.
There is one genera of anthros that is most focused on in this series, which is a group of Marsupials, the Peremalids (bandicoots and bilbies). The Peremalids struggled a lot during the 20th century, because of the disturbance of humans (obviously). Unfortunately some bandicoot species were wiped out during that time, about 7 species to be exact. 15 of them still exist in the 100th century, but many of them are still quite rare with very little known about them. Bandicoots have actually been around for over 55 million years, from what scientists have found in fossils, and the species hasn’t changed a lot at all. They remained very much the same for millions of years…. because there was never really a need for the species to evolve, in a drastic way. But since they were under immense threat from humans, they had to change or else be completely wiped out. Until the start of the 20th century to the 100th century, they did (along with many other mammals). Most bandicoots and bilbies started off as animals from the size of a rat to a large house cat. Then around the 50th century, they were around the size of a small dog, to a large dog and were quite tough, solitary animals, but had to complete with lots of other animals. They still had a marsupial pouch too, and were starting to become more intelligent.
And then finally at the 90th century, they were becoming bipeds, but could still run on all fours. They were around the same size as a human being, males from 80kg to 120kg and females from 45kg to 60kg. They started to lose the need for a pouch, due to the fact they had backwards pouches and wouldn’t be of much use in anthro form. But the young are still born quite early and small, deaf and blind (smaller than half the size of a human baby), and need a lot of extra care like the rest of the marsupial anthros. These anthros are strongly built, with short thick necks, strong limbs and claws, especially noticeable with the males. Their head is also quite big compared with the body. They have a lot of teeth, around 48. The males have larger canines than the females, due to the rougher nature. Most bandicoots are omnivorous, meaning they eat both meat and plants. But some species ate more plants than others, while some eat more meat than others.
They could learn most things other anthros could. However, like most marsupials, it took longer because they’re not as quick at learning as other anthros like the Canids. Their interaction with humans was limited too, they didn’t often encounter them, which are why many cannot speak human speech, or any kind of speech at all for that matter. They can learn it if tamed though.
A particular species of bandicoot is focused on in this story, the Burgundy Bandicoot (Puniceus potenictus). It remained unknown to science for a long time though, wasn’t discovered until the year 3764AD, because it lived in thick forests where humans rarely visited, and it was nocturnal (like all bandicoots). This Peremalid had thick burgundy fur on the majority of its fur coat, which is silky but longer and rougher on the back. The ridge of fur goes from the head right long the back to the short tail. A pair of long ears, which were only floppy at the very tips. Beige fur is the secondary fur colour, which was on the undersides of the animal, paws and muzzle. Some had different facial markings compared with others, and different/longer hair styles. Their eye colour is always a shade or green, blue or turquoise. If it’s any other colour, then that means they’re a partial hybrid. Their black claws, long and sharp, are used for digging, fighting and hunting. This race is related between a Brown Bandicoot and Greater Bilby, and is the 3rd largest of the Peremalids.
Like all bandicoots, they’re not very social and prefer to live alone, unless they have a partner and young. They’re also often very aggressive towards other bandicoots of their own kind, sometimes other marsupials as well.
There was this certain small group that fought for peace around Australia. This one group was lead by Tornson. A large adult burgundy bandicoot male, who was strongly built, had dark blue eyes, soft and thick burgundy fur surrounding him with cream coloured fur on his limbs, stomach, muzzle, and even around his eyes. A typical well built bandicoot. He wore combat like clothing, which very much suited his lifestyle and attitude. He had a nice attitude towards those at need, but a not-so-nice attitude towards the bad.
He had a mate by the name of Scerlene. She helped with Tornson almost every time they were together. She had a much slimmer figure, as being a female. Slightly long and bushy burgundy hair, light green eyes and similar combat like clothing. She had a similar attitude to Tornson, but was gentler. Instead of strength, she was quicker and used her claws often as defense.
The pair had three other team mates that helped by working at their side often, Koarzan, the Tasmanian Lion who has incredible strength and looked very fierce, but was actually rather kind and gentle most of the time. Zeena and Zepher, the Kowari siblings which were intelligent and had great fighting skills, despite their weaker build. This story starts off as the group has been invited to a meeting with the clan, known as "Past Justice Side" an organization lead by Vance. A cold hearted man who wants to be the President of Australia one day, and rid the lands of anthro socialites to make them servants to mankind. He was one that didn't believe in evolution and doesn't believe anthros should be living like humans, he believes they're creatures created by the Devil, to rid the land of humans. Tornson and his mob really have a strong distaste for this man, and want to try and deal with him civilly.
And so now, the actual story begins.
Chapter 1 - Life
The day was rather cold. Misty through the thick forests of Canberra, of Australia. It was almost dark, as the sun was setting out in the horizon behind the thick fog covered mountains.
Furtherer down the mountains, within a thick forest of pine trees and shrubs, was a secret base. It was unnoticed from the outside, as its entrance was very well hidden. There was a cave entrance, covered by various plants to hide the opening. Within the cave wasn’t much room. Not enough to even call it a home for any bandicoot, besides a smaller species. There was something else though, a large metal plated door, which look very well armored and not something that could easily be broken. The door didn’t even have a door handle, or any obvious way to open it besides a small slot. This slot was used for opening it with a special high tech card, once inserted.
Behind the door was a rather unsuspecting looking place. It looked rather high tech, had to have been made by humans, and/or intelligent anthros. Looks like it has been there for a long time though, but it was currently occupied by Tornson and Scerlene. The two of them were seen sitting together in their room, Scerlene was sitting on Tornson’s lap, as he had his arms wrapped around Scerlene. They nuzzled then both looked down at the soft figure wrapped within a blanket, which Scerlene held on to.
“Isn’t he wonderful? Looks like he has all if your great qualities right there, Scerlene” “Hey, don’t be so modest hun. I’m sure he’ll have many of your traits as he ages. He’ll become a great bandicoot warrior and defender like you also, I’m sure if it” both bandicoots cuddled up closely again and then looked down at the small blanket. A very small muzzle of a joey burgundy bandicoot was visible. The youngster was many times smaller than the parents, and hadn’t even opened his eyes yet, and had very short and soft fur. He was only a few days old.
“I’d really love to take a long break off this job, to spend more time here with Feitorn, and you. We’ve barely had time to settle down…” “I know Tornson, but there is just so many in need of our help… but I’m sure we can take turns with it” Scerlene told her mate, he sighed “It’s never a nice experience to be apart from you though, but I understand… tonight though, we all have to meet up with the ‘Past Justice Sides’ leader. I have to put an end to his chaos…before things get worse” “Tornson, we must take extra care though… we aren’t sure what he’s capable of. But I understand your determination…” “I need to try and convince him that his ways aren’t going to succeed, and aren’t doing any good whatsoever. If he dares to hurt any anthro, especially a Burgundy bandicoot… I swear, I’ll tear him and his crew up like there’s no tomorrow. But I must try to deal with him civilly first”.
“Tornson! Scerlene!” A loud gruff voice shouted, that was heard from speakers near the ceiling. Both Tornson and Scerlene looked up. Tornson stood up and walked over to the speaker, and pressed a button on the wall “Yes Koarzan, I hear you. Is it time already?” “Yes, yes it is unfortunately. Me and the rest of the crew are out here waiting. This may be our only chance to get close to this leader, and sort him out once and for all!” Tornson sighed to himself, Scerlene stoop up with baby Feitorn still in her arms “Gosh, this sucks doesn’t it? Well, we don’t have much choice now do we…?” “No Scerlene! You should stay here with Feitorn, we can’t underestimate this guy…” “No way! I’m going, we never go alone. We always stick together, don’t we?” Scerlene yelled at him, he turned for a moment then looked back at her “Well alright then, but please be careful. You must still be worn out from the birth… and I don’t want you to have to push yourself too much” “Don’t worry about me Tornson, I feel fine. I can’t miss out on this moment… I never miss anything!” Tornson walked over to her, he took Feitorn from her arms, and hugged the small marsupial gently “Don’t worry, we’ll come back to you soon, son. We just have some important things to deal with…” he safely handled the small joey back to his mother, both mother and father walked over to a human-like cot, obviously made for babies. She gently placed him down, and placed extra blankets over him. She gave him a small nuzzle “I’ll be back for you too, now sleep tightly, my son” she said before grooming him slightly. Tornson looked over Feitorn again, and watched as he slept, before the loud voice was heard once again “Tornson, we haven’t got much time…” he sighed, again. “Yes, we’ll be there right in a moment.” Scerlene and Tornson prepared themselves, and reluctantly left their room, only looking back at the cot in the distance, as they walked down the hallway. They got to the large, heavily armored door. Scerlene got out a card like device, and inserted it through the slot.
The Door opened, and a large, fierce looking anthro, who was a Tasmanian Lion, stood there with two smaller marsupial species behind him “It’s a pleasure to see the two of you again” he said with a bow, “No worries Koarzan, good to see you guys as well.” “How has your newborn been?” a female Kowari, known as Zeena asked “Oh he’s been lovely, it’s a very nice feeling to be a parent. I wish we didn’t have to part from him at this time though…” Scerlene replied. “yeah, I’d understand that…” the male Kowari, known as Zepher stood forward “It’s vital that we go to this meeting as soon as possible, or we may never get another chance to get close to this imposter” “You’re right Zepher, ok. Are you all prepared?” Tornson asked the mob, all the marsupials nodded.
“So let’s get going”.
Chapter 2 – Encounter
The mob of marsupial anthros rushed through the dark dense rain forest. Two Kowari, one Tasmanian Lion and two Burgundy Bandicoots… quite an unusual variation, when you think about it. But they were all going for the same goal; rid their home country of as much destruction and cruelty as possible.
They went on for about an hour or two; they were many miles away from their homelands by now, back up near the mountains. They now noticed they were getting closer to city ruins, from thousands of years ago. Some city skyscrapers still stood around the area, but were covered with vines, moss, lichen and other plants. Some animals and anthros even lived in these buildings, and watched Tornson and his mob from high up above.
“We’re almost there….” Koarzan spoke, and the five anthros noticed a large building in the distance, that stood out from the other older buildings. It wasn’t covered with any plants from what was seen, and had a very different looking architecture. There were even very well protected walls surrounding the building, with some humans standing up there posing as guards. The marsupials approached the building, in front of the large doorframe. They stood there waiting.
It was then that the door finally started to open. It slowly lifted up, as the five watched it closely and cautiously. When the door finally opened, five human men walked out, with one standing out in the middle. Quite obviously Vance himself, the leader of the ‘Past Justice Side’ team. He was quite tall for a human, had brown eyes and short blonde hair, and an even shorter beard around his mouth. Also wore very dark clothing including, with a mixture of black and dark red. With some light red highlights and a Logo “Past justice Side” standing for their team. The other men wore similar outfits, but didn’t stand out as much as his.
Tornson and his crew stared at him angrily, and awaited someone to speak “So. I finally meet the famous little mob of Canberra?” he spoke in a sarcastic tone, the others glared angrily at him “We’re a mob of marsupials, which go against the bad and evil people like you use on others…” Vance scoffed “Evil? Hah. We’re only doing what is best for this country. We don’t believe it should be led by filthy animals. We’re only trying to keep the natural order of things you know. Animals were made to be servants to humans, not friends, not opponents! Servants! But of course, you wont understand since you creatures are too unintelligent compared with us!” the marsupials all just growled and snarled together, then Tornson spoke “That is untrue. Animals, Anthros and Humans can live together in peace. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. We’re all equal, none are greater than the other… but I see you fail to notice that, since you’re too selfish and uptight.”
Vance got angered, “Right. That is IT.” Vance grabbed his sword out from behind, Tornson and the others just watched closely, and prepared for anything the man was about to do. He held his sword up, then pressed a button and it lit up and glowed a bright orange colour. The colour of intense heat, Tornson had no idea what he was doing until his acute sense of hearing head the footsteps of many coming for them, his ears then folded back in aggression “RUN!” he shouted.
*
All five marsupials ran off, and moments later… at least twenty or more men in
their uniforms were after them, with laser guns and other various weapons “Take
them down, now!” Vance yelled, many of them fired their shock pistols and laser
guns, but the anthros were a lot faster and were quickly out of sight in the
thick dense forest. “Hold those burgundy bandicoots hostage! They’re the ones we
need… just get rid of the other three!” shouted Vance, as all the man ran after
them.
The marsupial anthros were now starting to split up, from the sudden surge in soldiers coming after them, they started to lose track of one another as they went on through the forest. Scerlene was being chased, and then finally realized she wasn’t by Tornson’s side anymore “Tornson!!” she shouted, trying to find him “I’m over here!” he yelled from another direction, she quickly followed.
Zeena and Zepher were still by each others side and were finally cornered around rocky walls and crevices. They hissed viciously as they were slowly being walked up to by the humans in uniform with their weapons, “Time to kick some butt” Zeena muttered quietly, she done a very high jump and Zepher ran to the side, confusing the humans “Kill them!” one of the men shouted, they fired their guns all over the place but the marsupials were very quick and soon, Zeena stuck one from up above! Knocking one out with that single blow, Zepher kicked another from behind with surprise and the man went flying and smacked into two others. But soon, one fired plasma at Zeena and she was struck! “Argh!” she screamed, and fell over. But she quickly got up to dodge the next shots. She jumped very high and pinned down two men at once and swiped the weapons from their hands and used them against them. Zepher was doing quite well, but he had also got shot a few times from the plasma but soon, they had defeated the humans that were after them. They didn’t kill any though, but quite a few were knocked out or too injured to run away. Both Zeena and Zepher stood there proudly. “Are you ok sis?” “Well yeah I feel fine, it could have been worse” Zeena replied, while rubbing her leg which got shot. “What about you?” “I’m ok too but now, we must try finding the others…”
Koarzan realized he was on his own now “Tornson, Zeena, where are you guys!?” he roared with his gruff voice, then he came to a stop and decided he should fight back, in order to go back with his mob. He stood there, vicious and large compared with the much smaller human warriors “Take it down!” a flurry of spears came for the beast, and even plasma shots from various directions. The lion-like creature tried his best to avoid most of the attacks, but he was struck a few times by the plasma, which burned and sting him slightly but it wasn’t as bad as getting his flesh pierced by one of the sharp spears! The spear was impaled into his left shoulder and he roared loudly, and pulled it out in pain. But then he forgot about the pain and charged towards the darkness on all fours like an engaged bear. He swiftly bowled through the group of men before him, and they were shot off in all directions, then he quickly turned and gave a powerful swipe across the group, not taking notice of how much damage he was inflicting. May be due to the fact that his night vision wasn’t all to clear? Though, he didn’t care otherwise.
Two men died almost instantly from that attack, a simple blow to the head from that strong hand-like paw was all it took. Most of the other men didn’t notice, as it was pitch dark and they couldn’t see anything but laser and plasma gun lights. They fired in all directions where they thought the great beast was attacking. Koarzan was getting more and more annoyed with feeling the stinging on various parts of his body from the plasma and laser guns, so he spun himself around again and attacked at whatever moved around in the darkness. More bodies fell, injured or dead the rest of the unharmed men started to notice it.
“Let’s get out of here!” one shouted in fear, as he looked down at the fallen men. Others agreed and quickly rushed off out of the further darkness. Koarzan got up, and proudly roared “You scum better back off! Or else I’ll slaughter you all!” It was silent once again, even all the living creatures of the dark forest were silent, after such a series of sound. Koarzan then looked down on some of the injured people, he sighed “Disgusting. They even just ran off, without helping their injured comrades” he jolted off, unknown to where he was going as he was out in the middle of an unknown land of thick forest.
He just hoped his friends were safe…
*
Much furtherer away, the situation was unfortunate for the burgundy parents.
They were still being chased… very, very far out into the dark forest. Until
they could see more light in the distance, they carried on their run until they
noticed that they were coming close to cliff tops, with the crashing sea down
below… they stopped.
Both Tornson and Scerlene stood there with their angered glares, as they watched the human soldiers come out from the darkness of the forest. Only the moonshine shon apon the living beings, though the sun was seen in the far distance of the sea. Wasn’t too far until dawn.
“Well well. Running isn’t going to get you two anywhere” Spoke the voice of Vance, as he walked out into the open, past his soldiers. Tornson just gave a simple angered glare, as well as Scerlene. He knew the leader wanted something from them, but wasn’t quite sure
“What do you want!” he shouted, Vance just smiled slightly “Well, you see… I need, I want something on my team. Something of great value and great potential. You two are the ones who will lead me to it, so I have you both hostage, to get what I need, and want. Do as I say, and I’ll free you both and your friends from a certain death” Tornson was simply, outraged. Too angered to even show much of it on the outside “Rubbish! We won’t fall at the knees of you filthy men! We’ll fight through, and tear at you all and watch you all scream out for mercy! So don’t even go there, you won’t get anything out of us!”
Vance gave a similar, angered glare in return. “Don’t underestimate me. Just give in… I know you, the female burgundy bandicoot… has had a pup recently, and I want that. He’ll become the future leader of my league, and will be trained to become a powerful warrior… to gain the powers of the gods!” Scerlene was just as stumped as Tornson; what on earth was he on about? What gods, what are they? But nevertheless, they were angry about the mention of their baby! How did he know? Scerlene decided to lie “You are sadly mistaken. I do not have any offspring. I live a very busy and risky life, so I have not had time to settle down for that sort of thing anytime soon. But once I and my mob have finished you off, then maybe I just might” Vance was angrier now. He wasn’t sure if she was lying or telling the truth, but he did hear rumors that she was pregnant. The truth was, was that he found it very difficult to capture any burgundy bandicoot, and he had never seen a young one in his life. He wanted one… because of certain things he knew about the species. And now, his patience was wearing off “Right. I will not put up with anymore of this… it is time I revealed the rest of my soldiers” Vance got out a small, whistle like instrument, and blew through it. The high pitched sound wasn’t heard by him and the other men around him, but others had heard it… and not just Tornson and Scerlene. Out of the darkness and bushes came something, something quite a shock to the burgundy bandicoot pair.
They were anthros. About six of them, dressed in similar clothing to the rest of the humans around them. Tornson was simply shocked and disgusted at the same time… he couldn’t believe anthros would actually join these people, these kinds of people anyway!
“As I can tell from your disturbed expression, you weren’t expecting this…. Am I right?
