Ok, so many people ask me questions about 'Outcast Bandicoot' and such, so here's some answers Just email me if you have questions to ask.
What is
Ratchet-Galaxy and why is it in your website menu now?
It it an online community and recourse website for Ratchet and Clank fans, I
became a member early in the year, but in June I was promoted to be a RG
Manager, which means I help moderator and administrate around the website,
much like with my own websites :-) so if you're a fan of the series,
then feel free to join. I'm there everyday, posting and helping keep the
community alive and help rid of any forum nasties. It's also a place where you
can share your R&C artwork and fanfiction!
Is it true that
you're not going to continue with the Outcast Bandicoot Movie now?
Here's a quote I had on my frontpage from February 2010...
"There is also something else I want to discuss, regarding the OB movie. To be honest, I don't think I can do it anymore. I'm starting to get tired of it, I started it in late 2005 (back in the good ol days when I didn't have a job, lol) and well, it's been years and I'm still not even halfway! I've finished almost an hour of movie footage too and lots of concept and audio but yeah... all I want to say is that I cannot promise to finish it anymore. I want to work with other things now, not the same old thing. However, I'll try to finish off Chapter 18 anyway, but if you wanna know what else happens, then you'll have to read the fanfic. Though I can easily upload the 'audio chapters' that play along with the storyboards. But yeah, I think I've had enough of animating it though... way too much work for a single pair of hands and I have too much things to do in life as well." So yeah, there you have it. I'm sorry but I cannot do it anymore. Though if people want me to, I'll post up Chapter 18 anyway (though not all the animation is done, but the audio and storyboard is) and please DON'T BLAME THIS ON THE FALLEN STAR, ok?! I've been getting tired of it long before I even got into doing Ratchet related stuff! And to be honest, last year my artistic side was kind of 'dead'... except for doing stuff with Steve of course, since I never get tired of that. But OB stuff... I feel like I've almost had enough, to be honest. I want to do something fresh, something new... so please, be understanding of this decision. You'd understand easily if you listen to me now, or tried making your own feature length movie and did the same old stuff ever since 2003... If people are kind enough to me or if I get inspired, I'll try to do more of it though. Or I'll even post up all the audio logs I've done for it, so you can 'hear' what the future movie chapters would have been like. OB isn't actually over yet anyway, Outcast Bandicoot 4 is the final chapter in Crunch's adventures, and not to mention me and Steve are still writing those 'side stories' about Crunch's family and life after OB4.
Whoa, holey s**t!
What's up with that new project man!? Check out 'The Fallen
Star' for more, and click
About. It'll answer a lot of questions about
why I started it and all... hopefully if you guys read it then I won't have to
hand out too many tinfoil hats D;
Why do you hate furries? Do you hate ALL of them and doesnt that mean you're one by drawing anthro art? Pretty good question there. And well I actually don't hate ALL furries, I only dislike the creepy ones. Like the ones who are only attracted to animals and baby animals, make everything gay, have no respect for anyone else, don't keep their opinions to themselves, are idiots, etc. So yeah, common sense really. I have found that many other furries are really quite talented though, and do really original artwork and high quality works, even some of those fursuits look pretty damn well made. So yeah, I have a bit of respect for the decent furs. because most of those ones just use their OWN characters, and have respect for other peoples thoughts and simply keep their 'offensive' things where they belong, and are also able to just IGNORE any hatred and just move on. Like I do. And I also do
not see myself as a furry. The only furry thing I do is just draw anthro art
and well, that's it. I have a fursona too of course, just for fun. But yeah, I
never really think of myself as an 'animal on the inside' and have a big
desire to be another species or so. I also don't really want a fursuit. And
finally, I'm just not really attracted to anthros XD not even Crunch, well of
course I still like him but not in the perverted and wrong way. And also, I
don't draw porn/yiff. Sometimes I might do 'themed' stuff or nudity (non
sexual way) stuff though, but even that is rare. So there you have it, I don't
dislike all. Only the idiot ones.
Are you religious
or part of any religion? Nope... I'm actually not part of
any, at all. Since the family I'm in doesn't follow any religion; though some
of my family is Christian. But yeah, I personally don't follow any. I just
follow my own morals and paths in life, and I don't believe in a 'God'.
However, I do like to believe there is an 'afterlife' and all that, like the
Heaven and Hell stuff and ghosts. Well, it's certainly a lot better than just
believing you only turn into a rotting corpse after death and absolutely
nothing after that XD I'd rather be a ghost than nothing!
Did you make up the
'Burgundy Bandicoot' Species for Crunch and his family?
YES, it was me. it's not official! And that's that, heh. You can read all
about the species
right here. So yeah, I first made Crunch's own species near the start
of the whole OB series altogether! At first though, the species were called
'Maroon Bandicoots'. But in 2004 or 2005, I changed the name to Burgundy
Bandicoot, because it sounded better. So yeah, the species was created by me,
just based off Crunch in WoC pretty much...
What are the main
differences you have created for Crunch based off the 'Wrath of Cortex' Crunch
Bandicoot? I guess this picture here will show you the main
differences I have added to him for my series :) though take into account that
my style is much different to the WoC style too. This may help with people who
want to avoid copying my style of him too I guess XD (just to be more
original, or if they only wanna base their Crunch art off the original)
What the hell is
wdoggstudios and why are you part of it? Been meaning to
answer this but I forgot!
Anyhow, it's a studio which is owned by a friend of mine named Wesley in the US. It's basically a small studio where he and the other members there make movies and such, and it is currently non-profit. Me and Steve are also members too, and we do our own works so far, though Wesley has a few stories that are mixed with OB too. They also helped a bit with the OB movie, such as getting the voice for Adult Crunch.
Which Crash
character designs (from the games) do you prefer? Pretty good question, people
keep asking me which ones I like most (from the games) so yeah, I'll list the
main characters (and please don't get too offended, it's only my opinions and my
opinions only! If you don't like them, then that's too bad. It's not like I'm
forcing you to agree...)
Crash: It's pretty hard to choose, as I liked him from the start of the games until Twinsanity... didn't mind him at all design-wise for all those games, even CTTR's one isn't that bad. But I really dislike that blabbering he does in CTTR and onwards (the games I don't pay attention to) and I won't bother mentioning CotT and onwards ones. However, I don't like how Crash is completely mute in Twinsanity, and he is a bit too 'dumb' but I reckon CNK portrays his character very well, so CNK it is I guess (only his voice is too high). Crunch: Err isn't it obvious? Wrath of Cortex's design is best, of course. Though since we didn't see much of how he acts while being a good guy, I reckon CNK's personality for him is good for that (doesn't act like an idiot, nor like Mr T). I don't mind his CNK design much neither, but I still think WoC's one is better. Looks cool, fierce, strong and powerful. With a really cool voice and attitude. Unlike the new lame ones by Radical, who act more like Mr T and are weak, very weak compared with before. And he doesn't even do anything good for Crash, like a real friend of Crash should... it's like he's there just for 'laughs'. Coco: I guess I never really had problems with her, all her designs are fine to me, kinda weird how she looked in WoC though... looks like she got a lot younger. But at least her personality and all was right (still a smart and useful sis to Crash). She is pretty lame in CTTR and onwards though, but I don't mind her designs in the newer games. But she is an idiot, but smart at the same time... o_O funny. So yeah, I prefer the classic Coco, up to Twinsanity. Neo Cortex: I thought he was great in Twinsanity! Though seems a bit less evil, but he really is still as evil as before! (Well, once you see what he tries to do to Crash once the game is finished and how he attacks Ernest, etc heh) but I reckon he's decent in this game. Funny and Evil at the same time and his design is perfect to me. I also don't mind him in the older games too, but the newer ones (2005-2008)... meh. Dr N.Gin: I guess I liked him in all the games while he still had the ginger hair... personality and design wise. And while he was still making robots, using rockets like a madman and talking in that funny robotic way. Won't bother mentioning the new goth, emo, transsexual one. Nina Cortex: It's a bit hard to say much about her, since she didn't talk at all in Twinsanity but I did like her in that game, if only she talked a bit so I knew her personality... personally I don't like the new Nina's personality, her design and voice isn't bad though. But I prefer her in Twinsanity, sure she's ugly but she's fine as she is. I found it interesting that she was originally an animal lover, while her uncle was the complete opposite. So yeah, I liked her being "An 'evil' but 'good' character". Her steel hands are a cool idea too, and a cruel reminder of how bad Neo really is, in trying to force his own niece (daughter, maybe even lol) to be evil in the first place...
I guess that's all I'll list, too much to go through. But really, I just use my own ideas on all the characters... in a way (for the OB series) I just develop each character in my own personal way as to how I'd like them to be. I don't completely stick with game portrayals, since too many of the characters change WAY too often, so it's pointless to do that. And a lot of them are so poorly developed that I need to develop them more myself. Like I have done excessively with Crunch, just the way I like it.
Why did you leave
DeviantART in 2008? I left, mainly because I
was generally getting tired of being around there, and I was getting bored of
commenting and such (I admit). The community is also not what it used to be, and
the administration there is very poor, probably because the site is so
overcrowded these days that it's hard for them to keep up or really take things
seriously anymore. I was also getting less interested in posting my own artwork.
So yeah, I just left. At first I was unsure if it'll be permanent at first. My website is all I
need for posting my artwork anyway, despite not getting any feedback at all
(Besides some nice words my friends say on msn or by email).
I did not leave because of trolling and flaming though. I actually had none of that until I left, for no reason too lol. But it doesn't matter anyway, since none of that can take me down or stop me from doing the things I like. Unlike some other people, I've moved on and I don't care about holding pointless grudges against each other and start little 'internet wars' like angry little 12 or 13 year old fans would. I'll also have my account 'closed', which a friend will do for me since I can't be bothered doing it myself. So it'll look like I got banned, but I didn't. Just got it closed and from what I remember, it does look like a banned persons page with the ! in the username and everything will be cleared. (Steve will be doing this as well).
Is it true that Crunch was added to Twinsanity, for you? It used to be on Crash Mania
a while ago but disappeared for some reason... was it just a
rumor? I've been asked this kind of often lately, but wasn't really comfortable with adding it here (cause I don't like to sound like a show off, lol) but since I keep being asked, and other
people do even more 'show off' like things well... yeah, about time I tell the truth!
And well yes, it's true. Years ago when I was at the Crash Fansite Forums, everyone was raving about Twinsanity, which was still in the making. After I saw those early images, I was constantly hoping that Crunch would be in it and that it would be the 'original' one (lol, I was a bit psycho fan back then, my apologies). At the time, no one actually knew this but there were actually around 2 to 4 'members', which were actually people from Traveller's Tales... but no one knew for a long time. They apparently overlooked our gossips and such about the game... and also noticed my posts. We found out they were there about a year later, I was a GMod at the time and I noticed those accounts had... @t-tales.com emails (or they may have been different, I don't exactly remember!) So they were from Travellers Tales! Then when it was closer to the games release, a new video clip was leaked onto the internet and it was the one with Crunch's cameo! I went crazy with joy of course, since I was crazy back then, lol (again, my apologies!) and I was just glad that he was at least in the game, though I did hope he'd have more roles, unfortunately he didn't but at least he was there at all. Then after a while, me and some fans started to wonder why Crunch was so short compared with everyone else at the scene, so I decided to have to guts to go ask "Cheesyniblets" on DeviantART about it (he's one of the 3D modelers that worked on Twinsanity, he has some character models in his gallery). He replied and told me he wasn't quite sure, since he didn't make the model, so he said when he goes back to work he'll ask the guy who made it. Then a few days later, he replied and told me it's because he was added at the last minute, and in the format they created him on him wasn't able to resize... so they had to keep him at that size for the game. And as he was explaining that, he also told me I was the reason they even added him after all... I was pretty surprised of course, and almost didn't believe him! Hah. Actually, for weeks I was wondering "was he really true when he said that o_o? Or was it some joke to keep me happy?" I decided to believe it anyhow, and move on. Then sometime in 2006, I was having a private convocation with "FakeNina" (Another person from TTales that worked on Twinsanity) in PM at the Sierra Crash Forums about something, and then he randomly told me "Sorry again for making Crunch small in Twinsanity too, he was a last minute addition" and then I was rather shocked, again, heh. It was him that made the model, and others for the game. And it was him that added him for me after I asked him if that was really true. So from then on, it was all cleared up and proved to be true after all! I'm rather grateful and honored they did that, so now I don't really care that he's mistakenly short and has no other role in the game. At least he's there! I'm just surprised they'd do that for me back then, especially since my artwork was horrid back in those days! haha. And that's another reason I am fond of Ttraveller's Tales, and was really saddened when Traveller's Tales Oxford was shut down and never given a chance to continue with the Crash series. But there you have it, the full story. That fact that is got deleted from CM is because apparently, I'm "a nasty, evil person" for not liking Radical Entertainment and their new 'Crash' series. Aww, I'm not allowed an opinion. Sad, sad people.
When will the next OB Movie Chapter be done?
Never.
Do you draw Crash yiff/yaoi/yuri/porn at all?
No.
Are you still a Crash fan? Well, in a way yes. But I have actually let go of the series, as most of you may know. I dropped it
after Twinsanity... sorry but this is my decision. At least I'm not being a Naughtydog fangirl or some flamer going around saying "blah the new games suck" and stuff. But yeah, even though I aint much of a fan
of the Crash games anymore, I am still happy to work with my Outcast Bandicoot work. That's probably the only Crash related thing I really enjoy working on.
Why do you dislike CotT
and the other Radical Crash games? Because I do. I really don't want to go furtherer with this issue... I am actually growing tired of the
series and flame wars. And please bare in mind that this is MY opinion alright? If you guys don't like my view on this then just please, just keep it to yourself. I'm not hurting any of you guys by not liking
this new game alright? I am quite annoyed that I'm almost not allowed to have an opinion on this without getting mindless flaming from angered fans. I am allowed to have an opinion, so don't forget that. I
can't like everything now can I? Do you see me saying "you suck" to
the Crash fans who like those games? no, you don't. I don't mind if you like it... just don't try forcing your opinion down my throat, that's all.
Do you hate the new Titans Crunch and do you still hate CTTR (Mr) Crunch? I'll answer the CTTR Crunch question first. And to be
honest, no. I don't really hate him anymore. He's nothing to me nowadays, sure in 2005 I was really infuriated with him but now... I don't care at all. He no longer exists in the games anyways (in a way) I only
believed he shouldn't be the 'new' Crunch, that's all. As for the new one... well I actually don't really hate him, I actually dislike the whole entire series make over in general.
Will you draw any Crash of the Titans fanart? Never. Sorry but I wont. There are other fanartists that will draw it anyways, try
searching DeviantART.
Will there be another Outcast Bandicoot story (after OB3)? Yes. I have some ideas for another... and I think it'll be the end of the OB
saga BUT I am kind of thinking of another story about Crunch's 3 kids, which wont have 'Outcast Bandicoot' in the title, because that won't make sense for the bandiger kids! But yeah, I do have ideas. Hopefully
I'll write these someday.
In OB0, Tani was evolved before Crunch, does that mean that she is older than him? It is possible that Tani is older than
Crunch, but they're still very close to the same age though. She could be a few days, weeks or a few months older... but not years, definitely not XD
How did you think (what inspired you to make) of the Outcast Bandicoot series?
Well I guess Crunch is what inspired me to start the series (along with the game Wrath of Cortex, of course!) but yeah, I really thought he was a cool character that needed to be developed further so that's
what I did. I was originally going to start with Crunch being created in WoC but then I decided I should make him have a past instead (since it'll be more unique, longer and interesting) but yeah, Crunch and
WoC is what made me start with all this. None of the other games made me think of such an idea, heh.
How do you make your Outcast Bandicoot Movie? I use Macromedia Flash 5 to make it.
Why do you add the characters weights/heights and how do you know them? Good question. And actually, I made them all up. It's obvious
that their heights/weights are unknown... I just made them up myself. It actually helps me with when I draw and animate them and when comparing different characters with one another. (also, the characters sizes
change in almost every game... so I had to make up them)
Will you make an Outcast Bandicoot game? No. I simply don't have time for that... however I have made a few simple games related to it
over the years, here's two of the older versions
http://www.outcastbandicoot.xtremeisland.com/OutcastB_game.htm
Who was the first Crash
character you made? Kris roo is, he was created back in 1997 when I
was about 7/8 yrs old, Kris was also named 'Kristen the Kangaroo' back then, he's
been through a lot of changes, he was first brown, then dark blue and now
red/orange colour!
Who's your favourite Real Crash
Bandicoot Character? Crunch is
my Favourite Crash Bandicoot character, because he just looks cool and he also has a great voice and personality, he's basically an awesome character, he is also my inspiration to many things. Which has helped
me get furtherer with my work.
What is 'The New
Mob'? It was the old title for the Outcast Bandicoot series.
Is Tani a real Crash bandicoot
Character? NO. I made her up. Tani is a Crash Bandicoot related character, But I made
her up (just had to answer this, since I sometimes get asked this by people not too familiar with the CB series).
What program's do you use for drawing
and animation? I use Paint Shop Pro 9 and for animation, I use
Macromedia
Flash 5! and for Movies, I use Movie Maker 2.
What is an Anthro? An anthro
is an animal with human like Abilities, but not part human. In the OB series,
the anthros are referred to as 'Evolved Animals' since they are actually still
animals, but evolved into what they are to compete and work with humans themselves.
What species is Crunch?
He is a bandicoot, not a wolf,
dog, whatever! (believe me, some people actually thought he was those!) but if you mean what
species of bandicoot then.... I think it is a made-up one, because none of the
bandicoots are maroon/red/etc.... and none have floppy ears too, so I just think
he's a fantasy bandicoot type, which I think is cool, so I made up the...
Burgundy Bandicoot. I made it up like X.treme island, so don't think it's real or official. kay?
Whats a Thylacine/Taz
Tiger?
Its a marsupial which
is now extinct though... it looked like a dog (face and body) but had a tail
which was thick like a kangaroo tail and had stripes along its back to the base
of its tail. I know Tani's tail isn't like a taz tigers one but Is because that's
how Tiny's tail is too.
